Reflective Analysis

I directed, wrote and edited a 3 minute sequence from my horror/surrealist film "Possession" aimed at my target audience of 15-24yr olds. The aim within this short sequence was to create an enigma over what had previously happened in this house for such Polly to be experiencing such bizarre dreams.

The surrealist elements within the film were inspired by mise-en-scene within popular horror film "The Ring"

Casting Considerations for Anna

Name: Sadie Bryant
Role consideration: Anna Ward
Reason for consideration: Sadie owns 1970's style clothing and I feel her innocent looking face gives her a vulnerable edge that would be perfect for the role.
Reason for not getting the role: Sadie is already starring in my media coursework and therefore I feel would be unfair to ask her to give up anymore of her spare time.

  Name: Kate Hannah
  Role Consideration: Anna Ward
Reason for consideration: Kate is aged 18 and therefore
is around the same age as Anna Ward meaning she fits the
description.
Reason for not getting the role: Kate similarly to Sadie is also in my other film based coursework and I would feel it unfair to continually ask her to use her free time for my benefit. Also Kate lives in Beverley making it harder to find time to film.

Casting considerations for Polly Dixon

Name: Katie Smith
Role consideration: Polly Dixon
Reason for consideration: I considered Katie for the role of Polly due to her purple hair which is modern, it would give a better indication in the sequence to which scenes are in the present day and which ones are a flash back.
Reasons for not getting the role: Katie is a film studies student and therefore has her own film to make so agreeing on a shooting schedule would be difficult.

Name: Stevii-Lee Ingham
Role consideration: Polly Dixon
Reason for consideration: Stevie is reliable for filming and very willing to participate as she knows how hard it can be to get actors/actresses since she's also making a film.
Reasons for not getting the role: Unfortunately Stevie lives in Brough which is difficult to get to and would make it expensive to find a place to film.

Name:
Chantelle Norman-Golding
Role consideration: Polly Dixon
Reason for consideration: Chantelle fits the age description of Polly as she's aged 17 and Polly is a teenager.
Reasons for not getting the role: Finding mutual available times for filming was hard.
